About Steve Heap

West Virginia based art photographer.

In Steve’s words…

“I’m a photographer and I live to create images that will bring back memories of a happy vacation or remind you of a place that you used to call home!

My aim is to capture each location I visit in the best light and create a photograph that you would be truly proud to display in your home or office. Although this will completely date me, I’m an accomplished photographer who first picked up a camera more than 50 years ago! Those words just make me shiver!

As a professional photographer, I have been very active in the stock photography world with images printed in leading magazines, travel guides and international publications. With over 17,000 images in my portfolio, I have tried to capture the essence of locations around the world. Although it is hard to believe, my images have been licensed by publishers of all types over 300,000 times in the past 10 years.

More recently, though, I have been more focused on the elusive task of getting the perfect image of places I visit – ones that really speak to the viewer and ones that would be a perfect image to remind people of a happy time in that location. I have selected my best images and made them available as prints that can be framed and displayed on your wall and bring those memories to life.

You can read the story behind many of my photos on my website, BackyardImage.com

My portfolio can be seen at SteveHeap.com and it is organized by location so that you can quickly find the print you are looking for. I offer free shipping in the USA and Canada, but if you are based outside those countries, you can find my work at Steven Heap – Official Website (pixels.com) with printing facilities in many countries around the world. All with a 30-day money back guarantee.”

About Mary Bedy

Michigan-based writer, painter and photographer…

I live in a beautiful town called Saint Clair in Michigan, which is on the very eastern edge of the “thumb” area, right across from Canada. For the past 40 years, I have managed a translation company, but 30 years ago, after being a relatively decent oil painter in my leisure time, I decided to get more serious about photography because that medium called to me. A professional photographer friend recommended a particular manual (film) camera because he said it would force me to learn how to set everything to get the best image. I will be forever grateful for that advice. Fast forward 30 years to the digital age and I’m still learning, but it’s oh so nice to not worry about film cost and developing.

I like everything. I like architecture, still life, nature, the US national parks, and for the last several years, the massive and graceful freighters that pass by on the Saint Clair River. At this point (October, 2022), I have collected 346 different ships, including a few Coast Guard cutters, tugs and two or three river cruise ships.
